Hydraulic cylinders with guide bushing have a thread for mounting the guide bushing in the cylinder tube.

General information
- To avoid a vacuum in the cylinder, Hänchen recommends opening the ports or venting screws of the cylinder for disassembly.
- Drain as much of the hydraulic fluid remaining in the cylinder as possible.
For cylinders with a position transducer, remove it before cylinder disassembly. Maintenance work on the position transducer is described in the section Maintenance Product with Position Transducer.
Dismantling guide bushing
- Loosen guide bushing [1] with a suitable pin wrench via the face-side holes and unscrew it.
- Carefully pull the guide bushing over the piston rod.
- Pull the piston rod out of the cylinder tube.

- Moisten the piston and cylinder tube [2] with hydraulic fluid or use compatible assembly grease.
- Position the piston rod with the piston on the inside diameter of the cylinder tube.
- Shape the wear rings and insert them into the groove (if the piston is equipped with wear rings).
- Insert the piston rod into the cylinder tube and push it to the end stop.
- Carefully slide the guide bushing [1] onto the piston rod.
- Screw the guide bushing into the cylinder tube.
- Tighten the guide bushing with a suitable pin wrench.
