A position transducer electronically indicates the position of the piston rod.
This position signal can be used, for example, as an actual value signal in the position control circuit, for monitoring limit values of position or speed, or simply as a display for the current position of the piston rod in the cylinder.
A position transducer can be integrated into the cylinder or mounted externally. Integration into the cylinder provides a mechanically protected system with a compact design.
The output signal can be an analogue signal, such as voltage or current, or digital information.
