Cylinder equipment
The term equipment is used for the cylinder's inner characteristics such as sealing or guiding elements.
The cylinder's inner equipment is divided into cover with sealing system and guiding system, piston with sealing system and guiding system, sealing material, and quality of piston rod.

The sealing system in the cover describes the design and combination of the sealing elements in the cover. The sealing material is not described here. |

The characteristic guiding system in the cover describes the mechanical guiding elements, e.g. synthetic guide, in the cover. |

The characteristic sealing material describes the basic materials used for the sealing elements of both cover and piston. For example, FKM-based means that the basic material is FKM in combination with other compatible materials such as PTFE. |

The characteristic quality of piston rod describes the material and the surface quality of the piston rod, e.g. 20MnV6 hard chrome plated. |
The HÄKO recommendation helps adapting the combinations suitable for the application, especially of sealing and guiding systems on cover and piston, to the operating conditions.
