All types of clamping unit Ratio-Clamp® can be installed on hydraulic cylinders. For this purpose, the piston rod of the cylinder has to be lengthened depending on the length of the clamping device.
The attachment of the clamping unit Ratio-Clamp® to the hydraulic cylinder is made using an intermediate flange.
When a clamping unit Ratio-Clamp® is attached to a hydraulic cylinder in HäKo, the fastenings and the piston rod extension are selected automatically.
The clamping unit Ratio-Clamp® can be attached to the following cylinder series in the electronic catalogue:
When using the Ratio-Clamp® with a cylinder of series 300 or 550, the force of the cylinder can be higher than the holding force of the Ratio-Clamp®.
In particular it must be taken into account when selecting the mounting of the cylinder:
When fixing the drive unit at the Ratio-Clamp®, the force flow is effected through the flange junction between cylinder and Ratio-Clamp®. However, this is only designed for the maximum holding force.
When fastening the drive unit directly to the cylinder body, for example with spherical bearing, the full cylinder force can be applied with unlocked Ratio-Clamp®.
This must be taken into account during design and operation so that the Ratio-Clamp® is not overloaded and the rod may slip through it.
When using the Ratio-Clamp® with a cylinder of series 300 or 550, the operating pressure in the cylinder may exceed the permissible pressure at the Ratio-Clamp®.
Please note that the releasing pressure of the Ratio-Clamp® may be reduced to the permissible value of 160 bar. A pressure reducing valve, for example, can be used for this purpose.
The control block can be used to operate the clamping unit Ratio-Clamp®. This can also ensure the pressure reduction to the Ratio-Clamp®.
