Hydraulic cylinders and pressure intensifiers
Intended Use
- Hydraulic cylinders must be used exclusively for generating linear motion through hydraulic energy.
- Pressure intensifiers must be used exclusively for generating secondary pressure through hydraulic energy.
- Hydraulic cylinders or pressure intensifiers must be used exclusively for installation in a machine or partly completed machine in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
- Hydraulic cylinders or pressure intensifiers must be used exclusively within the specified limits.
- Follow the instructions in the documentation applicable to the product.
Improper Use
- Hydraulic cylinders must not be used:
- as a design element, for example as a guiding element
- with rotating piston rod
Exception: Such use is expressly permitted in the specific product documentation.
Function
Hydraulic Cylinders and Pressure Intensifiers
Hydraulic cylinders in various designs serve to generate linear motion through hydraulic energy. The hydraulic cylinders are intended exclusively for industrial use and are only designed to be installed in or assembled with complete or partly completed machines or equipment.
Pressure intensifiers serve to generate secondary pressure in a pressure chamber, which is acted upon by the extending piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder. The area ratio results in a pressure intensification factor.
