Installation
Clamping unit: safety catcher
Before installation into the machine:
- Inspect the delivery for completeness and damage.
The scope of delivery includes the Hänchen product as ordered by the customer according to the order specifications and confirmed in the order confirmation.
- Remove any installed cover plugs or cover plates used for protection against contamination during transport.

Installation of the safety catcher clamping unit

Insert the rod into the safety catcher such that the clamping jaws are pushed upwards. An incorrect installation direction can impair the locking function and compromise safety.
Flushing the lines
- Ensure that the clamping unit is not filled during the flushing process.
Port and vent
- Connect the releasing port EE and, if required, the leak oil port L of the safety catcher.
- Perform venting at the opposite releasing port analogously as described in Hydraulic cylinder - Installation.
Actuation
When the safety catcher is used in conjunction with a hydraulic cylinder, observe the following control sequence:
- Depressurize the releasing port of the safety catcher; the clamping jaws engage. The safety catcher is "load secured".
- Cylinder pressure off: The rod transitions from the "secure load" state to "assume load".
- Release the safety catcher by applying pressure to the releasing port. Move the rod upwards.
Proximity switch

The safety catcher can be equipped with up to three independent inductive proximity switches:
- Switch 1: Load secured
- Switch 2: Released
- Switch 3: Locked
